I think graffiti can be a form of art, same with tagging a building. It's all about how it's done and what message is being conveyed. Graffiti art can be incredibly moving. I think a lot of artists go by pen names because they don't want their background to interfere with the way the person views their work of art. When you don't know who produced the work of art then that gives and illusion of mystery to the person viewing the art. It strikes questions and can move the person in a more dynamic and open minded way.

Banksy and his art
I really like these two photographs of artwork that artist Banksy did. In particular I find it really interesting the locations he chose to place his art. I think he definitely is trying to convey a message across to the public. I find it interesting that the piece of art with the girl being lifted by the balloons is on the Israeli/Palestinian separation wall. It shows trying to achieve a sense of freedom or trying or trying to escape. I definitely agree with all of his messages he conveys in his art and think it's appropriate and a good way to come across to the public. He picks very unusual locations for his work and I like that.

This photographer really captures the true essence of the beauty of Maui. I think he has a lot of great photos and his use of color is great because it's so realistic. The photographer is trying to show off the beauty of the island and show how amazing it is. I think on a more personal level that I can relate to these photos because I lived in Maui for such a long time that I know every place on the island and I can envision myself at these places.
Photographer: Vincent Khoury Tylor
I used to live in Hawaii on the island of Maui for a big chunk of my life and this is one of my favorite places on the island because it's on a more remote side of the island and there's so much nature. I've swam in this waterfall before. It's pretty awesome and leads straight out to the ocean.
